Moussaka: Bulgarian lasagna
Moussaka also called Bulgarian or Greek lasagna is a beloved dish in the Balkans. Again we have something in common with Greek cuisine. This meal is based on potatoes and ground meat. It is delicious when you add some Bulgarian seasoning and you served it warm. Moussaka is one of the top Bulgarian dishes as well as Banitsa , Mekitsa and Tarator . The top layer is very common in our cuisine, it consists of eggs and yogurt. This part of the dish gives the unique taste which you can't find anywhere else in the world. As I mentioned above it is similar to the Greeks Moussaka, but they made it with eggplant whereas we, the Bulgarians are making it with potatoes.
